Mike McCullough – Guitar/Vocals
Mike McCullough is one of the Front Range’s most remarkable vocalists and guitarists, a musician whose talent and versatility have made him a standout across Eastern Colorado and beyond. Originally from Pueblo, he earned his music degree from Hardin-Simmons University before touring extensively throughout the United States with his wife, Lorraine, an exceptional pianist. Together, they have released four albums of original Christian music.
With more than 45 years of professional experience, Mike moves effortlessly between musical worlds—country, Broadway, jazz standards, and even the adventurous lines of Coltrane. His voice is a rare instrument in itself: warm, elegant, and expressive, drawing comparisons to Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett, and Frank Sinatra. He sings fluently in six languages—English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, and Latin—and his command of vocal style is matched only by his extraordinary guitar work. Like George Benson, Mike is a master of scat singing in unison with his guitar lines, a dazzling technique that never fails to captivate audiences.
Throughout his career, Mike has collaborated with many of the region’s finest musicians, including Mark Best, Mark Edwards, Carolyn and David Martin, Terry Gregg, Bijoux Barbosa, Lannie Garrett, Ken Walker, Ron Bland, Justin Adams, Charlie Smith, Carlos Crull, Todd Reed, Bill Stephens, and others. He also spent several years performing alongside his son Morgan—an accomplished bassist—in their group, the Atomic Brass Project.
Mike now lives with his wife in Kit Carson County, Colorado, faithfully making the long drive—often more than two hours—to Denver for nearly every performance. He is a retired teacher, currently serves as worship leader at his church in Vona, and owns a recording studio where he has helped numerous artists record, mix, and master their projects, including several of ours.
A gifted singer, a soulful guitarist, and a consummate professional, Mike McCullough continues to enrich every stage, classroom, and studio he touches.
