
Andy Weyl – Piano
Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, Andy has enjoyed an incredible career as a pianist, composer, and arranger. Since earning his Music Performance degree at the University of Colorado in Boulder, he has toured the US, Europe, and the Far East with award winning groups Rare Silk, the Jazz Worms, the Woody Herman Orchestra, the Big Swing Trio, and many others. He has appeared on radio and television, including an NBC Sunday Night Movie “Perry Mason, The Case of the Scandalous Scoundrel”. He has recorded numerous albums for multiple major labels. His latest recording with the Jazz Worms received a rave review in Downbeat magazine! He has worked with the Boulder Philharmonic and the National Repertory Orchestra, and played in festivals in Aspen, Westcliffe, Telluride, Breckenridge, and the Netherlands, among others. Furthermore, Andy’s compositions have been featured by many renowned dance troupes in performances across the US.
Andy has worked with a veritable who’s who of premier jazz musicians, including Ken Peplowski, Spike Robinson, Javon Jackson, Greg Gisbert, Hugh Ragin, Bobby Hutcherson, Jimmy Witherspoon, Keith Oxman, Regina Carter, Pete Condoli, Red Holloway, Benny Golson, Buddy Tate, Al Grey and more. He is in high demand for all styles of jazz, from swing to be-bop, mainstream to free.
Andy has lived in Denmark, Germany, Belgium, India, Holland, and Washington DC. We are fortunate to have his incredible talent here in Lafayette, Colorado!
